Karl serves as Director of Construction at Matthews, bringing over 20 years of international construction expertise to his role. Beginning his career in 2002 as an apprentice carpenter on high-end custom homes in New Zealand, Karl expanded his experience across Australia, Germany, and the UK before transitioning into construction management roles from 2009 to 2019. During this period, he successfully led diverse commercial, institutional, and industrial projects spanning New Zealand, Australia, and Canada.

In his current role, Karl oversees all construction operations for the Oceanfront Squamish Development project, demonstrating Matthews' commitment to excellence through meticulous planning, coordination, and execution. He manages multidisciplinary teams while ensuring projects are delivered on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. His collaborative approach with internal stakeholders, consultants, and contractors reflects the company's values of integrity and innovation.

Karl's notable achievements include the successful construction execution of Sp'akw'us Feather Park on the Oceanfront Squamish Development, a project that has garnered multiple awards. He holds a Bachelor of Construction in Construction Management from Unitec New Zealand and a Trade Certificate in Carpentry from BCITO New Zealand.
