Zain Joseph is a Chartered Quantity Surveyor and Senior Cost Manager at Matthews, bringing over 11 years of experience in the built environment.
He specialises in cost planning, procurement, contract administration and financial control across the full project lifecycle, helping clients achieve commercial certainty and value on complex construction developments.
As a Senior Cost Manager at Matthews, Zain spans a diverse range of sectors, including residential, commercial, healthcare, education and aviation, across both public and private projects in South Africa and the Middle East.
Throughout his career, Zain has contributed to the successful delivery of major projects including the Aseer–Jizan Highway in Saudi Arabia, the Burj Al Arab, the District Six Restitution Housing Project, City of Cape Town Fire Stations, and the University of Cape Town Polar and Digital Laboratories Building.
In addition to his project experience, Zain has played an active role in developing the profession. He has lectured at the University of Cape Town and the Cape Peninsula University of Technology and has served as an assessor for the APC Final Assessments with the South African Council for the Quantity Surveying Profession (SACQSP).
Zain holds a BSc (Hons) in Quantity Surveying and a BSc in Construction, and is a Chartered Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS). He is recognised for his technical expertise, commercial acumen and commitment to delivering value-driven outcomes for clients on complex developments.
