In August 2016, Matthews through its affiliate RMGM Developers broke ground on a new multi-family project in Hutchins, Texas. The partnership with the non-profit Family Gateway brings 336 apartment homes to the city of Hutchins, providing mixed-income homes in an area near the International Inland Port in south Dallas County. This is said to be the largest 4% Low Income Housing Tax Credit project underway in Texas and the first of its kind approved that did not require a property tax exemption or third party soft loans, such as city grants or bridge financing.
