Originally built in 1985 following an international design competition, the landmark Tuwaiq Palace in the Saudi Capital’s Diplomatic Quarter has been the subject of a dramatic transformation into an ultra-luxury boutique hotel.

Matthews provided Development, Project and Cost management services in the pre-contract period for the redevelopment of the 24,000 sq m palace into a 90-key, ultra-luxury boutique property with five exquisite culinary concepts; a wellness center with 13 treatment rooms and swimming pool, an auditorium and a multi-purpose hall to host cultural events.

One of a trio of renovation projects being undertaken by Boutique Group, Tuwaiq Palace joins Riyadh’s Red Palace and Al Hamra Palace in Jeddah as one of the landmark properties undergoing a transformative redevelopment process.

With the intention of defining and delivering a unique, ultra-luxury Saudi hospitality experience, the renovated palaces have been carefully redesigned to promote and preserve the city’s rich cultural heritage and boost the regional economy, enhancing Saudi Arabia’s position as a leading cultural tourism destination and a vibrant focal point of local community engagement.
