Previously the royal residence of His Royal Highness King Faisal bin Abdulaziz, the sprawling blue and white Hijazi architecture of Al Hamra Palace is being carefully renovated, emerging as one of Saudi Arabia’s most luxurious new hotels.
Designed by OBMI with interiors by Jacques Garcia, the redeveloped, ultra-luxury Boutique Group hotel boasts butler service across 47 suites, 44 villas and one Royal Suite; six exceptional culinary concepts; a luxury spa and pool, wellness centre; tennis courts; a business centre, a 10,000m2 cultural events space and exquisitely landscaped grounds.
A key part of Saudi Arabia’s masterplan of preserving, conserving and rehabilitating the Kingdom’s historical sites in order to achieve the objectives of vision 2030, Al Hamra Palace is part of three renovation projects being undertaken by Boutique Group. Matthews provided Development, Project and Cost management services in the pre-contract period of this culturally significant project.
Joining Riyadh’s Tuwaiq and Red Palaces as one of the landmark properties undergoing a transformative redevelopment process, the trio of historic royal palaces intend to define and deliver a unique, ultra-luxury Saudi hospitality experience. Meticulously redesigned to promote and preserve the city’s rich cultural heritage and boost the regional economy, enhancing Saudi Arabia’s position as a leading cultural tourism destination, each of the palaces will act as a vibrant focal point of local community engagement, providing a central hub of social activity and cultural reflection.
