Matthews Canada, in partnership with CN Rail, developed the Calgary Logistics Park - a major intermodal business park spanning 680 acres. Strategically located inland from the ports in Western Canada, the park offers fully serviced, build-to-suit sites for warehousing and distribution, with direct rail connection and quick access to all major highways.

By reducing port congestion and lowering trucking costs and truck traffic, the facility strengthens supply chains while creating a more sustainable, cost-effective path for Canadian trade.

The park is home to major tenants including Whirlpool Canada, Princess Auto, and TDL Group, demonstrating its appeal as a gateway to central Canadian and U.S. markets.

Whirlpool Canada Distribution Center

Matthews developed a long-term relationship with Whirlpool Canada spanning over 10 years, built on trust and partnership. Whirlpool selected the CN Calgary Logistics Park as the location for their new 422,000 sq ft distribution facility, which Matthews completed in 12 months - ahead of schedule and under budget.

As Development Partner with CN and the Construction Manager for Whirlpool, Matthews secured the lease, arranged financing and construction, and upon completion, sold the property to an institutional third-party investor. The facility achieved LEED Silver designation and was recognized with the 2018 NAIOP Calgary REX Award for Industrial Lease of the Year.
